Developed as Honda's ambitious foray into the high-performance market, the Acura NSX debuted in 1990. The groundbreaking vehicle challenged European dominance in the sports car segment with unprecedented performance and reliability. Design of the NSX leveraged Honda's extensive experience in Formula 1 racing with novel tech tip to tail. The car’s mid-engine layout, an all-aluminum monocoque body—a first for a production car, and model-specific powertrain signaled a new era in Honda’s performance legacy.  

For model-year 1991, the NSX arrived powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine equipped with innovative VTEC (Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control), producing 270hp and 210lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission offered exhilarating performance and a top speed of around 168 mph. The car’s balanced chassis claimed both a low center of gravity and engaging dynamics. Setting new standards for its competition, Acura’s NSX made its mark.
