Seller Description

This 1991 Acura NSX was acquired by the seller on BaT in July 2022 following long-term prior ownership in California and Idaho. Subsequent work included resurfacing the cylinder heads of the 3.0-liter VTEC V6, replacing the timing belt and various engine seals, and installing a Koyorad radiator, slotted brake rotors and braided lines, an aftermarket sound system, and a rearview camera. Shifting is through a five-speed manual transaxle, and the car has been fitted with NA2-specification ABS components, aftermarket stabilizer bars, and tubular headers. The vehicle is finished in Formula Red over Ivory leather and has 16” and 17” aluminum wheels, a limited-slip differential, a black roof panel, pop-up headlights, power-adjustable seats, automatic climate control, and cruise control. This NSX shows 92k miles and is offered with service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The NSX featured aluminum bodywork, and this example is finished in Formula Red with a black roof panel and pillars. Features include pop-up headlights, an integrated rear wing, side air intakes, power-adjustable side mirrors, and quad exhaust outlets. The front bumper cover is said to have been repainted under previous ownership, and the seller states a ceramic coating was applied to the body following their acquisition. Scratches are noted on the rear bumper cover.

NA2-specification 16” and 17” seven-spoke aluminum wheels are mounted with Falken Azenis tires measuring 215/45 up front and 255/40 out back. The car features a four-wheel double-wishbone suspension and aftermarket front and rear stabilizer bars. A reported NA2-specification ABS system was installed under previous ownership, and work since 2022 included rebuilding the red NSX-branded brake calipers and installing Stop Tech slotted rotors and braided lines as well as a replacement steering rack bushing.

The cabin features power-adjustable sport seats upholstered in Ivory leather, while black leather covers the dashboard as well as the upper center console and door surfaces. The stainless-steel door sill plates are stamped with the car’s serial number, and automatic climate control and cruise control are additional elements. Noted modifications installed since 2022 include a EuroBoutique carbon-fiber double-DIN dash panel with a satin gloss carbon-fiber A/C vent frame as well as a ScienceofSpeed Type-S-style shift knob, a mesh shift boot, a Hertz amplifier, a JL Audio subwoofer, a custom Angus 10″ subwoofer under the passenger-side floor, and an Alpine head unit linked to a rearview camera. The seller reports the window regulators were replaced in 2022. A noise from the climate-control system is noted upon start-up.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a tachometer with an 8,000-rpm redline, a 188-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, fuel level, and oil pressure, the latter of which was replaced under current ownership. The six-digit odometer shows 92k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership.

The mid-mounted 3.0-liter V6 features VTEC variable valve timing and was factory rated at 270 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. A Dali Racing aluminum coolant tank and cap have been installed along with a Koyorad radiator. Work in 2025 included performing a valve job, resurfacing the cylinder heads, and installing ARP head studs, a rebuilt starter, and a ScienceofSpeed lost motion assembly kit. The following components were replaced at that time:

  • Timing belt & tensioner
  • VTEC solenoid gaskets
  • Thermostat & gasket
  • Coolant hoses
  • Coolant temperature sensor
  • Head gaskets
  • Intake manifold gaskets
  • Spark plugs
  • Valve cover gaskets
  • Oil cooler O-ring
  • Fuel filter
  • Front crankshaft seal
  • Camshaft seals & position sensor

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. A photo showing transaxle serial number J4A4-1001540 is provided in the prior listing, indicating that the unit falls outside the snap ring failure range. The clutch was replaced in 2020, and the CV axle boots were serviced under current ownership according to the seller. An aftermarket exhaust system and headers were installed under prior ownership.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage.
