Seller Description

This 1991 Acura NSX was previously sold on BaT in March 2022 and was acquired by the seller in 2023. The car was modified in 2007 with a fixed-headlight front-end conversion, a Downforce NSX-R-style hood, a Lexan engine cover, a rear diffuser, and a repaint in silver with a gloss black roof. The 3.0-liter V6 was fitted with a Comptech supercharger, a Driving Ambition aftercooler, and an AEM Infinity-6 engine computer, and a six-speed manual transaxle was installed. The car was also modified with an OS Giken limited-slip differential, KW Variant 3 adjustable coilovers, staggered-diameter BC Forged wheels, a Rockford Fosgate stereo, red leather upholstery, Billy Boat tubular headers, and a Fujitsubo Super Ti exhaust system. Service in August 2023 included installing a Science of Speed clutch and flywheel kit and replacing the rear main seal, VTEC solenoid seals, and spark plugs. This NA1 NSX is offered by the seller with spare parts, a car cover, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Tennessee title.

Finished from the factory in Formula Red, the car was repainted silver with a gloss black roof in 2007 following a fixed headlight front-end conversion and shaving of the antenna, turn signal indicators, door lock cylinders, and badges. Additional features include a Downforce NSX-R-style hood with hold-down pins as well as a carbon-fiber rear wing, a rear diffuser, a Science of Speed Lexan engine cover, xenon headlights, and carbon-fiber B-pillar trim pieces. The factory bumper beams have been replaced with Pole2Race carbon-fiber pieces, and a windshield wiper has been removed.

The 18″ and 19″ BC Forged wheels are wrapped in 225/40 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires up front and 275/35 Michelin Super Sport tires in the rear. The seller notes the rear tires were fitted in preparation for the sale. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs with RacingBrake two-piece slotted rotors and braided lines, along with a Tilton proportioning valve, Porsche 993-sourced brake ducts, and an anti-lock brake system unit obtained from a later-model NSX. The suspension has been modified with KW Variant 3 adjustable coilovers, Pole2Flag adjustable sway bars, a Comptech front camber kit, STMPO chassis braces, and a Carbing rear strut tower brace. Science of Speed steering gear bushings have also been added, along with Cedar Ridge toe links, rear beam bushing kit, front pivot clamps, and sway bar links. The front tires are noted to rub at full lock, and the fender liners have been removed.

Originally trimmed in black, the interior features NA2 NSX seats upholstered in Vivid Red leather and joined by a matching armrest, carpets, and headliner. The dashboard is trimmed in black microsuede that extends to the door panels, and amenities include power-adjustable seats, air conditioning, a Rockford Fosgate stereo, an auxiliary input, a Comptech short shifter, a Valentine One radar detector, aluminum pedal covers, and carbon-fiber interior trim. Aftermarket sound deadening has been added, and the heated seat switches control the interior lighting. The heater core was removed.

A leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel from a Honda S2000 frames a tachometer, a 188-mph speedometer, and supplementary gauges, while a GaugeART multifunction display is housed in the center stack. The six-digit odometer shows 69k miles, approximately 400 of which have been added by the current owner.

The 3.0-liter C30A V6 was fitted with a Comptech supercharger with a Whipple 2.3-liter compressor under previous ownership. The timing belt assembly, water pump, alternator drive belt, and valve cover gaskets were replaced in June 2018 by Science of Speed in Chandler, Arizona, and service in August 2023 involved repairing the intercooler reservoir bracket and replacing the rear main seal, VTEC solenoid seals, and spark plugs. Dynamometer test results from 2015 are provided in the gallery and show the engine produced an estimated 443 horsepower. Additional modifications are said to include the following components:

  • Driving Ambition aftercooler
  • Science of Speed E85 fuel conversion kit, big bore throttle body, baffled oil pan, and billet camshaft plugs
  • Billy Boat tubular headers
  • Pride high-flow catalytic converters
  • Fujitsubo Super Ti exhaust system
  • AEM Infinity-6 engine computer and UEGO wideband oxygen sensor controller
  • Injector Dynamics 1000cc fuel injectors
  • Aeromotive 340-lph fuel pump
  • Toda oil pump gear
  • ATI Super Damper
  • Masiv radiator
  • STMPO coolant overflow tank

A six-speed manual transaxle from a later-model NSX was installed and sends power to the rear wheels along with an OS Giken Superlock limited-slip differential with a 4.62:1 gearing ratio. A Science of Speed clutch and flywheel kit was fitted and the transaxle fluid was changed in August 2023. The seller notes the differential is stiff at lower speeds and when turning. Photos of the clutch and flywheel installation are viewable at the end of the gallery.

A service manual, two-piece brake rotors, exhaust pipes, spark plugs, and the removed heater core and wiper blade are included in the sale in addition to service records, manufacturer’s literature, and a car cover.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and displays history in New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Arizona, and Tennessee.
