Seller Description

This 1992 Acura NSX was first delivered to Auto Square Autos of Cerritos, California, and has reportedly resided in the state since new. Finished in Berlina Black over black leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 3.0-liter VTEC V6 mated to a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes staggered-diameter Volk Racing forged wheels, Project Mu four-piston brake calipers, carbon-fiber body panels, a Taitec center-exit exhaust system, a MOMO NSX-R steering wheel, and an Alpine stereo unit wired to an aftermarket amplifier and speakers. Services in preparation for the sale included replacing the timing belt and water pump as well as resealing the engine and rebuilding the drive axles. This modified NSX shows 166k miles and is now offered with a window sticker, manufacturer’s literature, service records, removed parts, a car cover, a Carfax report, and a clean Montana title in the name of the seller’s LLC.

The aluminum body is finished in Berlina Black, and carbon-fiber panels installed under previous ownership include a vented hood, a Seibon rear wing, and covers on the headlights and side mirrors. Front and rear Honda emblems, HID headlamps and fog lights, tinted polyurethane covers on the front indicators, GT-One side skirts, an aftermarket rear diffuser, and a mesh engine cover have been installed along with an aftermarket front splitter that shows cracks. Stone chips are noted on forward surfaces, and the front fender lips have been rolled. Photos of removed panels and components that will accompany the car are included in the gallery below. A rear-end collision is noted on the Carfax report in an entry from 2004.

Staggered-diameter Volk Racing ZE40 forged wheels measure 18″ up front and 19″ out back and wear 225/35 and 255/30 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires, respectively. The brake system utilizes Project Mu two-piece four-piston aluminum brake calipers over 355mm rotors up front, and the seller states that JRZ RS coilovers are installed at each corner.

The cabin features power-adjustable bolstered seats upholstered in black leather, cruise control, and automatic climate control, for which the control unit was reportedly refurbished under previous ownership. Additional equipment includes an NSX Type R-style headliner, aluminum pedals, and an Alpine stereo unit wired to an Audison amplifier and Hertz 6.5″ speakers. A tear is noted on the outer bolster of the driver’s seat.

A MOMO NSX-R steering wheel frames a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, a 188-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 167k miles, approximately 11k of which were added under current ownership.

The mid-mounted 3.0-liter V6 features VTEC variable valve timing and is retrofitted with RDX injectors according to the seller, who notes that a Prospeed Stage 3 tuning chip was added to the engine-control unit and a Koyo aluminum radiator is installed along with an ARC Super Induction air-intake box. Services completed in April 2022 by Driving Ambition of Rancho Cordova, California, included cylinder compression and leakdown tests, for which results are listed in the gallery, as well as rebuilding the drive axles and replacing the following components:

  • Timing belt
  • Water pump
  • Valve cover gasket
  • Rear cam seals
  • VTEC seals
  • Oil-pressure sending unit seals
  • Oil pan gasket
  • Alternator belt
  • Air-conditioning compressor belt

Power is supplied to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. A photo showing transaxle serial number SR8M-5000186 is provided in the gallery, indicating that the unit falls outside the snap ring failure range. A Taitec center-exit exhaust system is also installed.

The window sticker lists factory colors and options along with a total price of $65,600.

The Carfax report lists the aforementioned damage report along with history in California and Montana.
