This NSX is in excellent condition and falls within what many consider to be the most desirable year-range (97'-01') for the NSX. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer NA2 with pop-ups in this condition and with such low mileage at this price.
Year: 1997
Model: NSX-T
VIN: JH4NA2160VT000148
Color: Red / Tan
Mileage: 38,?600 (likely to increase with weekend driving)
MODIFICATIONS: As the car sits right now it has the following modifications: · KWV3 Coilover Suspension (three of four original included; one shock was on its last leg) · Spacers on all four wheels · Lowered roughly 1 inch all around · Shorty antenna (original included) · SOS stealth license plate · Comptech headers (original included) · iPod adapter · Tinted windows · Tan floor mats I just had a very careful paint correction performed followed by the addition of a ceramic coating (whole car) and paint protection film installed on the front nose,? hood and side view mirrors. Happy to provide additional information for interested buyers. In the process, I did have the font bumper below the nose repainted.
MAINTENANCE: I purchased the car in the Spring of 2016. The first thing I did was take it to a trusted NSX mechanic who has worked extensively on two prior NSXs that I have owned. We replaced the timing belt, all the fluids, the suspension, antenna, tires, an O2 sensor and adjusted the valve guides. I should have had him do the water pump but he said it looked brand new. About a year into my ownership I had to have the clutch master slave replaced. With all that being done the car is in tip top mechanical shape and everything works as it should. That being said, the windows are about medium speed up and down. I have had slower and faster on my two prior NSX. I suspect that the window thingy (an actual term in the NSX world) would be a good thing to install at some point but I do not believe it is needed in the immediate future.
HISTORY: I purchased the car in 2016 from a fellow in Connecticut. He owned the car for several years before me. It was reported as being for sale in 2008 by a dealership in the Midwest. Before that i was said to be part of a private collection but I have not been able to verify specifics. The car has a clean title and comes with a clean CarFax and AutoCheck. There are no records of accidents but in the process of having the front bumper repainted it was noted that a prior crack in the front had been repaired and reinforced. Out of an abundance of caution I had the mechanics take off the font end to verify that the panels and hardware were original. I am happy to report that all panels and hardware are original but I cannot offer any details as to what led to the crack and subsequent repair. My mechanic's opinion was that it was likely someone pulling too far into a garage or parking stall.
SELLER'S PERSONAL NOTE: And, if I may, there is a reason the original platform NSX has received the praise that it has over the years. Not only has the Pininfarina inspired design held up amazingly over the years, but even by today's standards this car offers one of the best driving experiences available. Just last weekend I took it on a drive up one of the local canyons and fell in love all over again. So why am I selling? I have four young kids, all under the age of 10, and my current thinking is that it probably makes sense to take that money and put it into something that we can all enjoy together. In addition, two and half years ago I suffered a leg injury that has left me without an Achilles tendon and with 70-80% loss of nerve function in my lower leg. As fun as it is to drive, I cannot drive it for periods longer than an hour without having some considerable discomfort. So, while I am looking to sell it, I am not looking to give it away and have set the reserve and Buy it Now prices at what I believe to be appropriate levels.
I have tried to represent this car as accurately as I can. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out through eBay.
This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early should I receive a full asking price offer.
