Seller Description

This 1996 Acura NSX-T is a targa model that shows less than 36k miles and is finished in Formula Red over black. The car was sold new in Maryland and moved to Texas after the seller’s acquisition in 2000. Power comes from a mid-mounted 3.0-liter VTEC V6, which is mated to a 5-speed manual transaxle equipped with a limited-slip differential. Recent servicing included an oil and filter change. This NSX is now being offered with the factory manuals, records from the seller’s ownership, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Texas title.

The aluminum body panels are finished in Formula Red, and the car is one of only 127 examples produced for the model year in this exterior color with a black interior. The attached Carfax report shows no history of accidents or other damage.

The forged alloy wheels measure 16″ in diameter up front and 17″ out back. They were fitted with new Falken tires by the seller.

The black leather interior retains its original stereo head unit and instrumentation, the latter including 180 mph speedometer and a tachometer showing the 8k rpm redline. The seller states the air conditioning controls were repaired in 2016. Modifications include an aftermarket shift knob, a carbon-look surround for the center air vents and digital clock, Zanardi Edition floor mats, and aftermarket pedal covers. The steering wheel has been repaired with black tape.

The odometer shows just 35,844 miles, about 22k of which were added by the seller over the last 18 years.

When new, the transverse-mounted 3.0-liter VTEC V6 made 270 horsepower using titanium connecting rods and forged pistons. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox and a standard limited-slip differential. The seller states that the the timing belt, water pump, and clutch have not been replaced during his ownership, though two oxygen sensors were. Recent work included and oil and filter change.

The rear trunk can be seen above, including the remote CD changer. The tools and jack are pictured in the gallery below along with the factory manuals and the front trunk area, which houses the spare wheel/tire.

The accident-free Carfax shows a mileage inconsistency in 2016 that was the result of a clerical error. The other 24 readings are consistent with the current indicated mileage. The seller’s records reportedly go back to his purchase in 2000.
