Seller Description

This 1992 Acura NSX is finished in red over dark grey and shows 79,510 miles, around 4,000 of which were added by the seller during his three years of ownership. Power comes from a C30A 3.0-liter VTEC V6, and the 5-speed manual transaxle is reported to be outside the range affected by snap ring failure. Modifications include an NSX-R rear wing and engine cover, BBS LM wheels, a stainless shift knob, and more as detailed below. Many receipts dating back to 2004 are included, and all recommended maintenance through 75k miles has reportedly been done. The timing belt was last replaced in 2015, and work in 2017 included a new fuel filter, fuel injector and ABS system services, and fresh fluids throughout. This NSX is offered with Carfax and AutoCheck reports, original vehicle records binder and manuals, a spare set of wheels, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

Exterior modifications include an aftermarket front lip and side diffusers, as well as an NSX-R rear wing and engine cover. The removed parts are included in the sale along with a fitted Science of Speed car cover. The BBS LM wheels wear Sumitomo HTR ZII tires and measure 17″ in diameter up front and 18″ at the rear. A set of original-style wheels is also included as pictured in the gallery, and the front trunk contains a limited service spare with Bridgestone tire.

Some spider cracking to paint on the front bumper is visible in a gallery photo, and other exterior flaws include minor chips/scratches, a blemish on the black passenger-side door pillar, and a cracked front running light. Two minor accidents are noted in the accompanying Carfax. Available receipts do not cover any prior paintwork or repairs associated with these incidents, the second of which reportedly involved a vehicle backing into the passenger-side front fender.

Updates to the interior include a Science of Speed polished stainless shift knob and red-piped NSX logo floor mats. A 2015 receipt shows the Bose speakers were replaced, and the seller says power window operation is a bit slow. A rubber molding on the driver’s door sash has starting to separate, and some paint has been lost from the sill emblem of the same door.

The all-aluminum 3.0-liter DOHC V6 features VTEC variable valve timing, updated headers, and a factory power rating of 270 hp. A sampling of earlier service receipts shows the following work:

  • 2004 – Clutch replaced
  • 2009 – Timing belt service
  • 2014 – Climate control and vehicle speed sensors replaced
  • 2015, April – Battery replaced
  • 2015, June
    • New timing belt, water pump, battery, lost motion assembly, spark plugs, damper, and all coolant hoses
    • Valve cover gaskets, cam seals, and VTEC solenoid gasket replaced
    • Valve lash set

The seller reports the car has been well cared for mechanically, and fresh brake rotors/pads have just been added. This NSX carried a $65,000 MSRP when new, and a VIN decode provides these build details:

  • JH – Japan, Honda
  • 4 – Acura, passenger car
  • NA1 – 3.0L C30A engine
  • 1 – 2-Door manual transmission
  • 5 – 1991-94 NSX coupe with manual steering
  • X – Check digit
  • N – 1992 Model year
  • T –  Tochigi, Japan assembly plant
  • 001261 – 6-Digit sequential production number

This 2015 Carfax report includes a gap in early vehicle history and captures records from four owners in Oregon, Arizona, and North Carolina. A December 2005 mileage inconsistency appears to result from an extra “0” entered during re-registration. The report also shows two accidents:

  • January 2002 – notes minor/moderate damage with no other specific information
  • July 2007 – minor right front damage from impact with another vehicle

An AutoCheck from 2015 is shown in the gallery below, reflects only the second accident, and adds no other major details.
