Seller Description

This 1991 Acura NSX shows 42k miles and is a three-owner California car finished in Formula Red over Black. The 3.0-liter VTEC V6 has been maintained in stock condition aside from a stainless steel exhaust system and replacement California CARB-legal catalytic converters. The serial number on the 5-speed manual transmission is said to be out of snap-ring issue range, and the timing belt/water pump were replaced in February 2016. Three sets of wheels and tires are included as detailed below, as are service records dating back to the second owner. This NSX is now sold with original sale material, an accident-free Carfax, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car is believed to retain its factory finish aside from the front and rear bumpers, which were repainted by a prior owner. The seller notes a few chips on the lower front bumper and some clearcoat peeling near the left-front turn signal. The right-rear tail light has warped and is starting to separate from the housing per the seller.

This car comes with three sets of wheels including the pictured 16/17″ 1994 model year alloys, which were powdercoated, fitted with JDM center caps, and wrapped in new BFGoodrich tires a few hundred miles ago. The left-front alloy is noted to have a few chips in the finish. Stock painted 15/16″ wheels with Toyo Proxes RA1 tires are also included along with a set of chrome 15/16″ wheels shod with Bridgestone Potenza rubber. Note the early 1990s California license plate.

Inside, the factory Black leather upholstery appears to be in nice shape in the provided images. The original driver’s seat cushion is currently in place and is quickly exchanged with an included thinner-than-stock piece from Science of Speed should the next owner require additional headroom.

The factory radio failed during the seller’s ownership and was replaced with a modern Sony double-DIN head unit. The original item is included. Additionally, well known NSX repair guru BrianK replaced all three amplifiers and the heater control unit. The driver’s window regulator has been upgraded with a metal clip, while the passenger’s was previously replaced with a new factory unit. A second upgrade kit is included for future use. In August 2016 at 41k miles, an R134 A/C conversion was performed by Foreign Affair in Santa Clara.

The 3.0-liter VTEC V6 is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission that is reportedly out of snap-ring failure range per its serial number. Mechanicals have been left stock aside from a stainless steel exhaust system and replacement CARB-legal catalytic converters. This NSX passed a California smog check in February 2016. The timing belt and water pump were also replaced in February 2016, and the seller has kept receipts for maintenance he personally performed such as engine/transmission oil changes, valve cover and oil pan gasket replacements, installing the exhaust system, and coolant flushes.

Several undercarriage pictures are provided in the photo gallery.

The Carfax report goes back to 1994 and shows no accidents, 19 records, and California ownership. Service records since the second owner include all recent services. The car is sold with its original key chains, Acura hat, phone/antenna, and factory literature.
