Seller Description

This 2000 Acura NSX-T was reportedly modified by Comptech USA circa 2001 and used as a pace car in various Indy Racing League events through the early 2000s. It is believed to have been later raced in various SCCA events under previous ownership before being repainted metallic blue in 2021 and listed on BaT in February 2022. Service since that time has involved replacing the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, oil pressure sending unit, oxygen sensor, valve cover gaskets, and tires. Power comes from a C32A VTEC V6 linked with a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential, and the car is further equipped with BBS magnesium wheels, KW coilovers, Brembo brake calipers, an ATL fuel cell, and a Comptech exhaust system as well as Simpson racing harnesses and an Autotech roll cage. Now showing 26k miles, this modified NSX-T is offered by the selling dealer—a BaT local partner—with a collection of memorabilia, partial service records, a clean Carfax report, and a Pennsylvania title.

A photo of the car being used as an official pace car for an IRL series event is shown above. A YouTube video of the 2004 Honda 225 Pikes Peak race broadcast is linked below and shows the car at approximately 1:46, 5:03, and 6:15.

Chassis YT000012 left the factory finished in Silverstone Metallic and was repainted blue circa 2001. The body was partially disassembled before being repainted again by Front Range Auto Group of Englewood, Colorado, in 2021 at a cost of over $65k. The selling dealer later added Honda Indy 225 vinyl decals to the rear quarters as well as Bridgestone stickers below the side air intakes. Additional work under current ownership is said to have included replacing the fuel filler cap and inner fender liners along with adjusting the front trunk latch. A removable roof panel, pop-up headlights, and dual exhaust outlets are further details.

Multi-piece 18″ BBS magnesium wheels were wrapped in 215/35 front and 255/35 rear Michelin Pilot Sport 4S in March 2022. The car rides on KW adjustable coilovers and is equipped with aftermarket toe links, bushings, and sway bars. Braking is provided by Brembo calipers over Comptech two-piece cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. The selling dealer tells us that the brake pads were chamfered and the fluid was flushed under their ownership.

The power-adjustable seats are trimmed in black leather and paired with Simpson racing harnesses. A padded Autotech roll cage and harness bar are installed behind the seats, and the stainless-steel door sill plates are stamped with the car’s serial number. A block-off plate has been fitted in place of the removed stereo, and retained factory equipment includes air conditioning and cruise control along with power windows, mirrors, and door locks.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 188-mph speedometer, a 9k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 26k miles, approximately 25 of which have been added by the selling dealer.

Recent dynamometer test results of the C32A VTEC V6 that are viewable in the gallery note peak outputs of 272 horsepower and 213 lb-ft of torque. A Comptech brace spans the engine compartment, and the engine is further equipped with a UNI air intake system. The timing belt, tensioner, water pump, oil pressure sending unit, oxygen sensor, drive belts, and valve cover gaskets were replaced in March 2022.

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The aforementioned November 2011 letter notes that a lightweight flywheel and clutch kit were installed in the early 2000s.

A collection of racing memorabilia and other documentation is included in the sale.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
