When it debuted in 1990, it stunned the world with its chiseled styling, mid-mounted engine, and of course, Honda’s epic VTEC system. In fact, the NSX was the first production vehicle from Honda to feature this groundbreaking variable valve timing and lift electronic control system. Today, we’ve got a lovely 1992 Acura NSX up for grabs in Pennsylvania, which would be music to any self-respecting petrolhead. You see, it’s not that easy to grab a first-generation NSX due to rarity. It’s estimated that a little more than 18,000 cars were sold worldwide. That’s why this 62,000-mile car is definitely one that should be considered.
Wearing a nice red suit, this 1992 Acura NSX is a true head-turner, even when parked in the middle of a field of modern supercars and hypercars. Of course, its aftermarket wheels add some distinctiveness, but the timeless Nineties wedge shape, pop-up headlamps, and low stance are all features absent from today’s cars. The interior of this 1992 Acura NSX includes black leather upholstered seating, automatic climate control, power door locks, electric windows, and power mirrors. The seats are electrically adjustable too, and the radio has been upgraded to a newer unit from Kenwood, bringing a CD player to the party, plus AUX and USB inputs. However, the car’s overall Nineties vibe is firmly retained, right down to its analog gauges and rev counter excitingly redlined at 8,000rpm. You’ve also got some storage spaces within the cabin, augmenting the surprisingly decent trunk space out back that lies behind the engine compartment. Right behind the passenger cabin of this 1992 Acura NSX is that epic naturally aspirated 3.0-liter VTEC V6. Its induction howl and distinctive VTEC roar are things that you’ll never hear in today’s turbocharged, computerized and sanitized automobiles. The engine may reportedly make "just" 270hp and 210lb-ft of torque, but the rear-wheel drive layout and 5-speed manual gearbox make it a real delight to drive. A Pride stainless steel exhaust has also been fitted for an even more exciting soundtrack.
