This 1991 Acura NSX is powered by a 3.0-liter VTEC V6 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle, and it has been fitted with a Comptech exhaust system, LED lighting, Davis Design Fab engine coil guards, a Desmond Wong cabin air filter kit, and red “NSX” embroidery on the headrests of the power-adjustable seats. Finished in Berlina Black over black leather upholstery, the car has staggered-diameter 15″ and 16″ forged wheels, a limited-slip differential, pop-up headlights, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a mobile phone. The seller purchased the car in 2021, and service since that year included performing a timing belt service, repairing the climate control unit, rebuilding the right-side CV axles, and replacing the clutch, fuel pump relay, ignition switch, rear main seal, oil pan gasket, fuel filter, coolant hoses, and primary and secondary clutch cylinders. This NSX shows 158k miles and is now offered with the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
The NSX featured aluminum bodywork, and this example is finished in Berlina Black. Exterior details include pop-up headlights with LED bulbs, an integrated rear wing, side air intakes, power-adjustable side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, Davis Design Fab engine coil guards, and Science of Speed engine cover struts. A dent is located on the right-front fender, the right-rear quarter panel has been repaired and refinished, and the front bumper cover was repaired following impact with an animal, according to the seller.
Staggered-diameter 15″ and 16″ five-spoke forged wheels wear Hankook tires that are said to have been recently mounted. The car features a four-wheel double-wishbone suspension with front and rear stabilizer bars, and braking is handled by NSX-branded calipers over vented rotors at each corner. The right-side CV axles were rebuilt in July 2021, and the thickness of the brake pads is low, according to the seller. The ABS system actuates intermittently, and the fuse for the system has been removed.
The cabin features power-adjustable sport seats upholstered in black leather with red “NSX” embroidery on the headrests. NSX-branded floor mats line the footwells, and additional appointments include automatic climate control, a Desmond Wong cabin air filter kit, cruise control, and red stitching on the shift knob. The stainless-steel door sill plates are stamped with the car’s serial number. Seam separation is noted on the visors, the defrost vent trim components are cracked, the antenna is said to pop when retracting, and the radio and CD changer do not work. The climate control unit was repaired in July 2021.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline, a 188-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 158k miles, approximately 30k of which were added under current ownership. An ABS warning light is said to remain illuminated.
The mid-mounted 3.0-liter V6 features VTEC variable valve timing and was factory rated at 270 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. A timing belt service was performed in July 2021, at which time the clutch, rear main seal, oil pan gasket, fuel filter, fuel pump relay, ignition switch, fuel injector seals, 22 coolant hoses, and clutch cylinders were also replaced. Oil leaks are noted in a July 2024, and the seller states the leaks have been addressed.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. A photo showing transaxle serial number J4A4-1003810 is provided in the gallery, indicating that the unit falls inside the snap ring failure range. A Comptech exhaust system has been fitted, and an April 1998 entry of the Carfax report states the transaxle was repaired.
The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
