The first generation of the Acura NSX launched in 1990 and has gained recognition as one of the most advanced sports cars of its time. Hand-constructed in Tochigi, Japan, this Acura NSX-T is one of only 304 manual transmission variants to have come finished in Formula Red over an Onyx leather interior for the 1995 model year. Cared for by its second owner since 1999, this example has been garage-kept, consistently dealer-maintained, and is now being offered for auction by its seller with approximately 73k miles on the odometer.
The NA1 generation of the Acura NSX was the first mass-production sports car to feature an aluminum semi-monocoque structure and was designed in collaboration with racing legends Aryton Senna and Bobby Rahal. This NSX-T was ordered in Formula Red including a matching removable aluminum roof panel. Equipment includes an integrated rear spoiler, red-finished brake calipers with NSX emblems, and aftermarket 18” Drag wheels mounted with Goodrich front tires and Yokahama rear tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cockpit of the NSX was inspired by the F-16 fighter jet, featuring a driver-focused orientation. The Onyx leather interior is trimmed with carbon fiber accents and accompanies 4-way power seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, cruise control, and power door locks, mirrors, and windows. Carbon fiber is carried to the dashboard, framing an 8,000 RPM redline tachometer and a 180 MPH speedometer. The seller adds that custom leather seats with red-colored inserts and contrast stitching have been installed along with an aftermarket radio. Some minor signs of wear are noted.
This first-generation NSX is powered by a mid-mounted Honda C30A 3.0-liter 24-valve V6 engine with VTEC variable valve timing. Up to 270 HP and 210 lb.-ft of torque are sent the rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual gearbox. The seller adds that the timing belt was replaced at approximately 50k miles. The CARFAX report shows a major service completed at Nalley Acura in Georgia followed by routine maintenance through 2022.
