This 1991 Acura NSX shows 40k miles and was optioned from the factory with a five-speed manual transaxle, which is paired with a 3.0-liter VTEC V6. The car has black leather upholstery, 17″ and 18″ Rays wheels, a limited-slip differential, a black roof panel, pop-up headlights, power-adjustable seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, and a Bose sound system. An engine-out timing belt service was performed at approximately 39k miles, at which time the air conditioning system was serviced, the rear brake rotors were resurfaced, and the clutch primary cylinder, rear brake pads, oil pan, CV boots, thermostat, coolant hoses, fuel and air filters, spark plugs, and hood and engine cover struts were replaced. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2022, this NSX is now offered in California with partial service records, a Carfax report, and a clean Texas title.
The NSX featured aluminum bodywork, and this example is finished in Formula Red with a black roof panel and pillars. Exterior details include pop-up headlights, an integrated rear wing, side air intakes, power-adjustable side mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets. Hail damage is noted in an April 2021 entry of the Carfax report, and the front hood, roof panel, front fenders, pillars, door panels, engine cover, and quarter panels received dent repair as a result. Replacement hood and engine cover struts were installed under current ownership.
The 17″ and 18″ Rays wheels are mounted with staggered-width Nankang tires showing 2019 and 2020 date codes. The car features a four-wheel double-wishbone suspension with front and rear stabilizer bars, and braking is handled by NSX-branded calipers over vented rotors at each corner. The CV boots, clutch primary cylinder, and rear brake pads were fitted, and the rear brake rotors were resurfaced at approximately 39k miles. An invoice presented in the gallery states the rear tires lose air.
The power-adjustable sport seats are upholstered in black leather and are complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Interior appointments include automatic climate control, cruise control, a Bose sound system, and a cassette stereo. The stainless-steel door sill plates are stamped with the car’s serial number. The clutch pedal pad has been replaced and the air conditioning refrigerant has been recharged.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a tachometer with an 8,000-rpm redline, a 188-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 40k miles.
The mid-mounted 3.0-liter V6 features VTEC variable valve timing and was factory rated at 270 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque. The cylinder head gaskets were replaced in 2021, and an engine-out timing belt service was carried out at approximately 39k miles, at which time the transaxle was serviced, a replacement oil pan was installed, and the air conditioning compressor, thermostat, fuel and air filters, spark plugs, and coolant hoses were also replaced. The car passed a California emissions inspection in August 2022.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. A photo showing transaxle serial number J4A4-1004042 is provided in the gallery, indicating that the unit falls inside the snap ring failure range.
