Seller Description

This 1991 Acura NSX was sold new by Everhart Honda in Statesville, North Carolina, and was acquired by the South Carolina-based seller in 2000. Finished in Formula Red with a contrasting black roof over a black leather interior, the car is powered by a 3.0-liter VTEC V6 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Features include automatic climate control, a Bose cassette stereo, Flowmaster exhaust, cruise control, pop-up headlights, power-adjustable seats, and MOMO wheels, while recent work is said to consist of an NA2 NSX ABS conversion and the replacement of the alternator, battery, and starter. This NSX is now offered with a binder of service records from current ownership, two keys with fobs, two shop manuals, a car cover with a storage bag, a clean Carfax report, and a clean South Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The aluminum bodywork is finished in Formula Red (R-77) and features a black fixed roof, a red Acura front badge, a rear spoiler, side-mounted air intakes, and pop-up headlamps. The front lip spoiler is missing, and the seller notes that the passenger-side front fender was repaired following a collision with a truck tire tread. The rear bumper was reportedly refinished to address cracking in the paintwork, and the rear window struts are said to be in need of replacement. Paint flaws are present on the roof panel, the trunk lid, and the driver-side door. The windshield and power-retractable antenna were replaced in 2017.

16” and 17” MOMO wheels are wrapped in Toyo Proxes tires T1R tires that measure 225/45 up front and 245/45 out back. The car rides on Bilstein shock absorbers, and stopping power is provided by red-painted NSX-branded calipers and cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. The seller reports that the brake master cylinder was replaced in 2006, and notes that the ABS system was replaced with a unit from an NA2 NSX in 2018. The brake safety switch is said to have been replaced in 2020.

The cabin features power-adjustable seats that have reportedly been re-trimmed in black leather along with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets lined with Zanardi-style floor mats. Woodgrain overlays have been applied throughout the cabin, and amenities include a Bose cassette stereo, an aftermarket alarm system, and an iPhone adapter. The automatic climate control system was reportedly replaced in 2012, and the seller notes that the cruise control is inoperable and the ashtray is missing.

A black leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 9k-rpm tachometer, a 180-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 159k miles, approximately 80k of which have been added during the last 20 years of ownership.

The mid-mounted 3.0-liter V6 features VTEC variable valve timing and is equipped with a K&N air filter and a Flowmaster exhaust. The timing belt and water pump were last changed in 2011 per the seller. Additional replacement parts are said to have included the speed sensor in 2015, valve cover gaskets in 2017, cam plugs and alternator in 2018, and the battery and starter in 2020.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The clutch was reportedly replaced in 2011, and the clutch safety switch is said to have been replaced in 2020. A photo of the transaxle number J4A4-1002473 is shown in the gallery, indicating that the unit does not fall within the snap ring failure range. Additional underbody images are provided in the gallery below.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and displays history in North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia through the most recent entry in August 2020. A mileage inconsistency is noted in 2020.
