Seller Description

This 1991 Acura NSX is finished in Sebring Silver Metallic over a black leather interior and is powered by a 3.0-liter VTEC V6 paired with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car spent time in New York and Massachusetts before relocating to Illinois, where it was purchased by the seller in 2018. Equipment includes power-adjustable seats, forged wheels, cruise control, and automatic climate control. A timing belt service was performed during prior ownership in 2016, and recent maintenance included an oil change and replacement of the spark plugs, tensioner pulley, drive belts, and a relay. Now showing 114k miles, this NSX is offered with service records, factory manuals and accessories, a spare set of aftermarket wheels, a Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

This example is one of just 310 finished in Sebring Silver Metallic (NH-552M) imported to the US for the model year. The Carfax report notes damage resulting from an accident in 1999, which the seller states resulted in the replacement of the left tail light section. The seller also notes touch-ups on the front fascia and mirror housings.

Factory forged wheels measure 15″  in diameter up front and 16″ out back and wear Yokohama Advan Neova AS08R tires measuring 205/50 up front and 225/50 out back. Braking is handled by black-finished calipers and slotted rotors all around. An aftermarket set of 17″ and 18″ chrome wheels are included in the sale and shown in the gallery below.

The cabin is trimmed in black leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes power-adjustable seats, automatic climate control, power windows, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an NSX-branded car phone, and aftermarket carbon trim on the center console. The climate control unit, driver-side airbag harness, and window tracks were repaired in 2018, and the air-conditioning system was recharged at the same time. Wear is noted on the steering wheel rim and on the NSX-logo floor mats, and the seller states that the aftermarket head unit is currently disconnected.

Instrumentation includes a 180-mph speedometer and a 9k-rpm tachometer, along with gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 114k miles, approximately 300 of which have been added by the seller. A cold-start video is provided above.

The 3.0L C30A DOHC V6 features VTEC variable valve timing and was factory rated at 270 horsepower and 210 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. A timing belt service was performed and the clutch and water pump were replaced at 110k miles in 2016 by McGrath Acura in Westmont, Illinois, and an oxygen sensor was replaced in 2018. Service in March 2020 at Fluid MotorUnion of Naperville, Illinois included an oil change and replacement of the spark plugs, belts, tensioner pulley, and a relay. The seller states that an aftermarket air filter is fitted, and reports that the transmission serial #J4A4-1000833 falls outside of the snap-ring failure range.

Additional photos of the underbody, suspension, and exhaust are viewable below.

The factory manuals are included in the sale, along with two keys, service records, and an unopened NSX book.

The May 2020 Carfax report notes the aforementioned damage report in 1999 along with registration history in New York, Massachusetts, and Illinois. A driving video is provided below, and additional driving videos are provided in the seller’s YouTube channel.
