Seller Description

This 1991 Acura NSX is finished in black over black and powered by a 3.0L DOHC V6 fitted with a Comptech supercharger and mated to a five-speed manual transaxle with a Science of Speed gearset. It was acquired by the current owner in 1996, and additional modifications include Sparco fixed-back seats, 17″ Volk wheels, a GT Carbon rear diffuser, carbon fiber side-scoops, Tein coilovers, a Brembo front big brake kit, Comptech headers, and more as described below. The car is said to have been stored for the last eight years, and the seller recently serviced it with a new battery, engine oil, and supercharger oil. This NSX is current registered non-operational and is offered on behalf of the current owner with records, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean California title.

The car is finished in black and features a fixed roof and pop-up HID headlights. Body modifications include a GT Carbon rear diffuser assembly and a set of carbon fiber side scoops. A set of aftermarket horns are visible through the lower front bumper. The custom dual-outlet exhaust system is not equipped with catalytic converters and exits between the diffuser and rear bumper.

Forged 17″ Volk wheels are mounted with Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 tires that show 2009 date codes and measure 215/40 up front and 255/40 out back. Adjustable Tein coilover assemblies are installed, and braking is handled by a set of Dali Racing-branded Brembo front brakes and red-finished factory rear calipers with vented and slotted rotors.

The car was originally delivered with an ivory leather interior and has been converted to black with a black carpet set, red-edged floor mats, and black fixed-back Sparco Evo 2 seats. Other modifications include a harness bar, five-point G-Force harnesses, a Science of Speed short shifter, and an Alpine double-DIN stereo with separate amplifiers and rear-view camera functionality. The seller notes that the car retains cruise control.

A Sparco steering wheel with an Alcantara rim is mounted using a quick-release hub. Aftermarket instrumentation includes gauges for supercharger boost, water temperature, air/fuel ratio, oil pressure, fuel pressure, and voltage. Just under 133k miles are shown on the six-digit odometer, approximately 100k of which were added by the current owner.

The all-aluminum C30A 3.0L V6 features VTEC variable valve timing, two camshafts per cylinder bank, and four valves per cylinder. A service by Hill Top Motors of Daly City in 2008 included installation of new aftermarket pistons and new rings, camshaft seals, cam cover gaskets, timing belt components, and more detailed on the included invoice. Engine modifications undertaken at the same time included installation of a Comptech supercharger, Comptech exhaust headers, and stainless steel fuel lines. The car is also equipped with an AEM standalone engine management system, and two pulleys are included for the supercharger.

Other additions consist of a Science of Speed vented carbon fiber upper engine tray, red powdercoated cam covers, a Mugen oil filler cap, a Comptech air filter, and a stainless coolant tank. The car is said to have been stored for the last eight years, and the seller has recently serviced it with a new battery and changes of the engine oil and supercharger oil. The seller notes that the vehicle will not pass a California emissions test in its current configuration.

The five-speed manual transaxle shows serial number J4A4-1003396, and the seller reports that it was fitted with shorter first through fourth gears from Science of Speed about ten years ago. The 2008 service also included the installation of a Science of Speed RPS Stage 1 clutch. Additional photos of the underside and suspension components are provided in the image gallery.

The April 2020 Carfax report last updates in 2013 and shows a theft and recovery on January 31 and February 1, 2008. The seller states that the car was recovered near the owner’s house missing the stereo. No accidents or other damage are indicated. A cold-start and drive video is viewable below.
