This 1991 Acura NSX shows just 16,600 miles and is one of 779 examples finished in Berlina Black over black for the model year. A mid-mounted 3.0-liter VTEC V6 sends power to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle. The selling dealer acquired the car in June 2019 from its original owner, who drove it sparingly during the preceding decade. Maintenance completed within the past five months included installation of a new timing belt, water pump, brake master cylinder, spark plugs, four tires, and more as described below. This NSX is now offered with records for the recent servicing, a clean Carfax report, factory owner’s manual and coffee table book, and a clean New Jersey title.
The NSX features aluminum bodywork and suspension, and early examples such as this car are equipped with a fixed roof. The Berlina Black paint is shown up close in the photo gallery below, as are the lenses and sideview mirrors. The seller believes the passenger-side rear fender and front bumper have been repainted. A scratch is present near where front fender meets the bumper cover, and a number of paint meter readings are provided in the gallery.
The seller had the 15″ front and 16″ rear alloy wheels refinished in June 2019, and in October new 205/50 and 225/50 Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires were mounted. The brake master cylinder was replaced in June 2019, and the brake fluid was also flushed. As shown in gallery photos, the NSX script on the brake calipers has been finished in red.
The cabin is upholstered in black leather with matching carpets and dash surfaces. Issues include an inoperable factory radio, missing reflector lenses on the inside bottom edge of both doors, and a crack in the plastic trim near the factory clock. The latter is shown up close in the gallery.
Factory amenities include a Bose sound system, power windows and locks, automatic climate control, and cruise control. The six-digit mechanical odometer indicates just over 16,600 miles.
The 3.0-liter DOHC V6 features VTEC variable valve timing and developed 270 horsepower at 7,100 rpm and 210 lb-ft of torque at 5,300 rpm when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle equipped with a factory limited-slip differential.
Oldwick Village Garage completed $3,217 in maintenance in June 2019, as the car had primarily been sitting in the original owner’s garage for the previous decade. Work included replacing the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, battery, coolant, fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, and drive belts. The engine oil and transmission fluid were also changed.
Transaxle serial number J4A4-1001038 is shown above and is not in snap-ring failure range.
The Carfax report shows no history of accidents or damage and lists New Jersey registration from new.
