This 1992 Acura NSX is finished in Berlina Black over black leather and was acquired in June of 2009 by the late owner, who subsequently added 32k of the 106k indicated miles. Power is provided by a 3.0-liter VTEC V6, which is mounted amidships and mated to a five-speed manual transaxle equipped with a limited-slip differential. Modifications include Advan Kreuzer wheels, an aftermarket exhaust, lowering springs, red-painted brake calipers, a stereo head unit upgrade, and more as outlined below. This NSX is now offered on behalf of the late owner’s widow by a friend. The sale includes a maintenance/modifications list, factory tools, a clean Carfax report, transmission-repair parts, and a clean Florida title.
The car is one of 390 finished in Berlina Black for the second model year of NSX production. The seller reports that the passenger-side B-pillar was repainted in December 2014 due to clearcoat damage. The popup headlights are shown in their raised position in the photo gallery below. A Guppy Attack stub antenna has been added along with TEIN lowering springs.
Advan Kreuzer V wheels measure 18″ in diameter up front and 19″ out back. Sumitomo HTR Z II tires are sized 215/35 in front and show 2011 date codes, while the 275/30 rears are from 2018. Some curb rash can be seen on the wheels in accompanying photos. Cross-drilled and slotted brake rotors have been added all around, and the calipers are finished in red.
The seats were reupholstered in 2016 with later-model covers featuring perforated inserts, and Zanardi floor mats with red piping are installed. The stereo has reportedly been upgraded by Willman’s Electronics.
Instrumentation includes a 180-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an 8k-rpm redline. The mechanical odometer reads approximately 106k miles. The seller reports that in late 2015 the instrument panel caught fire. Although it was quickly put out, the dashboard, wiring harnesses, A/C ducting, and various trim pieces required replacement. Parts were sourced from Science of Speed and Phil Smith Acura, and repairs were performed at Foreigntech in Plantation, Florida. The instrument cluster also required replacement, although the seller states that the new odometer was set to match the car’s actual mileage.
The 3.0-liter DOHC V6 features VTEC variable valve timing and was rated at 270 horsepower at 7,100 rpm and 210 lb-ft of torque at 5,300 rpm when new. It is mated to a five-speed manual transmission (J4A4-1004542), which falls within the known range for snap-ring issues. The seller has sourced a replacement transmission housing, snap ring, shift-lever seal, and axle seal, all of which are shown in the gallery and will accompany the sale. The seller reports that the car is not exhibiting any of the associated signs of an impending snap-ring failure, and the most recent timing-belt service was performed at 78k miles in 2010.
